While checking out information on the Atlanta Braves game today, I saw that Major League Baseball (MLB) has introduced a new MLBlogs service, where they charge $4.95 a month/49.95 a year for you to blog on their domain. Ironically enough, SixApart is involved, hence the high pricing. On one hand, it may be nice for bloggers to have a central place within the Major Leagues to talk about their favorite team, and Major League Baseball, but charging them to do it is a risky venture.

As blogging becomes more mainstream, free services like Blogger will be sprouting up left and right. Should people pay to blog? Personally, I think it should remain free. Let people have a voice without having to tack on another subscription-based service. We have plenty of that in our lives, already.
